Solar Analytics

This graph, taken from the Analytics spreadsheet I created shows usage, from current and past year, along with Usage from current and past year. Also are the high temps. The images below show the daily readings, and the summary page. With the spreadsheet you can look at data from specific time periods, as well as… Continue reading Solar Analytics

Solar Usage vs Generated

There are 2 seasons for solar. Between February and July the system generates more than what is used. Once the AC season starts, we use more than we can generate. However, by the time we no longer need AC, the amount of daylight is shrinking and thus the system cannot generate more than what is… Continue reading Solar Usage vs Generated

Solar System

The 13.6kw system is made up of 57 panels and 2 inverters. It was purchased as a 20yr lease (in March 2013) and would have to be transferred. The monthly lease payment is $141.20. The fee to be connected to TEP is roughly $20. And like so many things keeps going up a little at… Continue reading Solar System

Solar

System Usage vs. Generated Analytics Installed is a 13.6KW solar system. Lots of power. Best money ever spent and every year the payback is even better. Whomever gets this house is gonna say the same. As of this post, we have generated far more than used. I have also collected daily readings since installation and… Continue reading Solar

Ice Bowl

This is a copper sink that I re-purposed as an Ice Bowl. The drain is connected to a container which can easily be removed and emptied at the end of the party. Fill with with just ice, or add a few bottles of wine to keep them cold. I hang a few copper “Mule” mugs… Continue reading Ice Bowl

Wine Chiller

The chiller hold about 195 bottles, 2 deep. There is a shelf to keep open bottles. The chiller is lit and has numerous interior and exterior sensors. The unit is controlled by a smart temperature controller. The chiller is optional but has been designed to fit and hope that it stays.

RO Water Chiller

I converted a water bottle chiller to an RO chiller. Built it into the bar cabinet. Designed for easy access. Now you can get cold RO water at any time. Much faster then you can from the refrigerator chiller. The refrigerator water and ice are also supplied by the RO water.

Kitchen

The kitchen is 10’x9′ (90sqft) with a 10’x9′ dining area. It has a dishwasher, 2 gang sink with GD, dual oven 5 burner ceramic top electric range, microwave and side-by-side Refrigerator/Freezer. I have upgraded the sink and installed a larger garbage disposal. I added the pop-out sink tray and built a unique angled drawer to… Continue reading Kitchen

Fireplace

One of the main reasons we purchased this house. We use this on many a chilly nights. Yes, it burns real wood, although the fire logs are cleaner and less smokey. There is a gas line and it is fully functional, however, I use it mainly just to start the fire.

Bar

I took the ‘extra’ room and transformed it into the bar area and stocked it accordingly. The built-in cabinets were intentionally designed and built to have an old saloon look. I’ve added both interior and decorative lights to the bar counter. The wine chiller holds some 195 bottles of wine. The water dispenser supplies cold… Continue reading Bar
